ALLConverter to TRAK is a free video converter for Windows. It can be used to convert video files to MP4 files. The application is designed to provide optimized files for playback on TRAK GPS devices and mobile devices with considerably smaller screens as well.
The application uses an image of a TRAK GPS device as its interface. When you add a file for conversion, a video player will show on the screen of the GPS device and the video will start playing. When you start the conversion process, the application will show you snapshots of the video.
In terms of performance, ALLConverter to TRAK worked well for me. I converted an MKV file using the high-quality profile in a little over 1 minute. The MKV file was a very big file with a resolution of 1080p. The resulting file was of great quality as well and it played well on VLC. I didn't experience any problems with audio or video. There is support for subtitle files, but the window that opens when you click the "SUB" button has text in a language that I don't understand, so I can't say for sure what subtitle formats are supported.
